Who you are contacting: your state senator and your state representative.
What you are asking for: a public commitment to file a bill in 2027 creating a state bank on the Bank of North Dakota model.
A state bank can bring your state, or your city, millions in additional revenue every year without raising taxes or cutting social safety nets. North Dakota has owned one since 1919, and it earned the state $231.8 million in 2025. Is it that hard to believe that starting a bank is profitable? Your state’s figure is in North Dakota’s Bank Earned the State $231.8 Million Last Year, and the one-page summary gives their office the findings on a single page.
You can send either one to your own state senator and state representative and ask them directly: can our state do this, and will you file it? Find your state legislators at OpenStates. Email works, and so does a call. Your own words work better than anything copied from here, because a legislative office reads a hundred identical messages as one message and a letter that sounds like a constituent as a hundred.
